India Today Travel Plus May 2015 | Page 4

check in I embarked on a special journey eight ago… as I boarded the flight from Bangalore to Delhi, to join the India Today Group and edit Travel Plus, I was nervous and I was excited all at the same time. Unexplored territories are challenging and this one was opening up a whole new world for me. A world that has become a part of me and one which I will cherish forever. We have travelled many lands, we have returned to share our stories and experiences, we have changed with the times and we have reinvented when the need arose. Like Star Ship Enterprise: “continuing mission: To explore strange new worlds… To seek out new life; new civilisations… To boldly go where no one has gone before!” It has been a great run. I really hope all our readers, contributors, advertisers and celebrities have enjoyed being a part of it, as much as we have. Enjoy The Final Edition that you hold in your hands. We have put together some wonderful themed holiday ideas. The Plus List has blogger and travel writer Siddhartha Joshi handpick 10 wonderful train vacations where the journey is as much a part of the experience as the destination. Talking of trains a peep into how eating during train travel has changed in our country. The food feature talks of how online catering is changing the face of aloo-puri- packed- meals and offering you some amazing options . The cover story took our team with the very pretty and friendly Dia Mirza to Langkawi in Malaysia. Discover this beautiful island beyond the beaches… adventure, world’s cheapest duty free shopping and some rocking nightlife make for a family friendly holiday surrounded by turquoise sea, picturesque paddy fields and jungle-clad hills. We also have TV’s hot star Gautam Rode taking a snappy break in Mussoorie. Currently shooting for the on air show Maha Kumbh, Gautam’s hectic schedules hardly allow him the luxury of holidays. We capture for his many fans his weekend getaway. Savour every bit of this issue because as the American science fiction writer Frank Herbert said: “There is no real ending. It’s just the place where you stop the story.” BHARAT AGGARWAL/WWW.INDIATODAYIMAGES.COM THE LAST EDITION EDITOR’S LETTER RITU AGARWAL Send in your feedback to [email protected] Follow our page on Facebook: India Today Travelplus Follow us on Twitter: @ITtravelPlus; @RituAR Instagram: @TravelPlus; @RituAR 4 .
