Goal 2 : The Park Provides Workforce & Business Development Outcome 1 : The Park creates and sustains local jobs Develop a communications strategy and outreach practices to reach local Black-owned construction firms , subcontractor specialties , and material suppliers with timely notice of business opportunities Create bid packages that encourage local Blackowned contractors and sub-contractors to apply for site remediation , park construction , and post opening
Collaborate with First Source Hiring to provide BVHP residents training opportunities for jobs created by Park development , including jobs in site remediation , , construction , and post-construction operations Ensure that commercial leases also comply with First Source Hiring program provisions such as food vendors , operation of the Shipwright ’ s Cottage , waterfront recreation concessions , a mobile market program that enables rotating local businesses to operate food / retail sales in the Park , and other opportunities for workforce development with lo Support equitable hiring practices for job opportunities including flexible requirements for education , experience , and conviction history Outcome 2 : Job Training and Professional Development Opportunities are created through Park Construction and Operation Produce and publicize job / career resource fairs , job training and resume-building workshops onsite or through the Park
Work with OEWD CityBuild Academy and other labor and community partners to help disadvantaged job seekers in the community develop construction skills and industry credentials that open the door to construction work at India Basin and beyond Explore opportunities for BVHP residents to become apprentices in the SFRPD-Local 261 Gardener Apprentice Program , providing pathways to employment at India Basin Cultivate philanthropic funding for continued job training / career investment in BVHP

Report City LBE / MBE / WBE , BVHP , SF status and percent of all contractors , vendors , and leasees engaged during the remediation , construction , and operation of the Park
