WE SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Leveraging the new India Basin Waterfront Park at 900 Innes and India Basin Shoreline Park, project partners aim to economically uplift community members through job training and professional development, while supporting local businesses.
En2Action offers local food businesses access to a commercial kitchen and free workshops at The Food Pavilion, covering baking, mocktails, knife skills, and food safety. The Mario De La Torre Urban Reforestation Pre-Apprenticeship Program, a partnership with Rec and Park, SF Human Services Agency, and Local Laborer’ s 261, is training and mentoring 10 preapprentices in tree planting and landscape maintenance.
Other initiatives include local small business markets, such as Family Equity Partners’ Frisco Friday event series, which engaged more than 1,700 community members and supported more than 100 local businesses. Programs include job fairs, readiness training, and financial planning offered by APRI, as well as Smart Money Coaching financial skill-building.
We will soon resume our workforce development program during construction of India Basin Shoreline Park.
