WE BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER
WE BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER
The project partners have hosted or supported events and programs aligned with the goals of the Equitable Development Plan that build cohesion and social capital.
Our signature accomplishment was the opening of India Basin Waterfront Park at 900 Innes, which more than 500 people attended. The opening event featured community artist performances curated by the Ruth Williams Opera House; local food vendors coordinated through En2Action; community rowing and workshop activities with Rocking the Boat; art activities hosted through the park’ s Artist-in-Residence program; recognition of community leaders, past and present, including members of the Equitable Development Plan Leadership Committee; historical signage and programming that shares the neighborhood and park history; and more.
Additional accomplishments include new recurring community celebrations such as RecFest, Holiday at the Park, Senior Days, and First Saturdays at the Waterfront; hosting Artist-in-Residence activities, including monthly full moon rituals, outreach events, and office hours to help shape future programming at the park; fitness programming including boxing, yoga and Double Dutch; the Sounds of the Streets concert series; and more.
