WE SUPPORT YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
The India Basin Waterfront Park project partners have invested in programming to create educational and leadership opportunities for Bayview-Hunters Point youth .
This includes the Bayview Safety Swim and Splash program , a free learn-to-swim program , in partnership with the Y of San Francisco , for elementary school students living or attending school in the 94124 ZIP code . Based out of Martin Luther King Jr . Pool , the program served 220 youth in 2023 with more than 70 reaching their water safety goals .
Additional programs included a STEM Day in the Park , Teen Night , and a number of family-friendly community events .
