We Sat Down With Katelyn
Who/What inspired you to become an actress?
I’ve wanted to be an actress since I can remember, pretty much my
whole life. I used to sit in my booster seat watching Full House and
begging my mom to get me on the show!
happen!
Was there any other career you were interested in before you started acting?
Not really, it’s the only thing I was really adamant about growing up.
Do you have any other hobbies besides acting?
I am also a screenwriter and poet. I love to sing and dance. Anything
artsy, I love scrap booking and making my own greeting cards. I am
a huge gamer, I have PS3 and can beat basically all my guy friends
in any video game!! I also love being a Suzie Homemaker, hosting
shindigs at my place and baking for my guests =)
How old were you when you started your acting career?
I played baby Jesus in a church Christmas Play, so about 5 months
old. ? But I didn’t get into pursuing Film & TV until around 2010.
My first Day Player role was on Boardwalk Empire.
What advice would you give to young kids who want to act?
Start as early as possible. Don’t ever lose sight of your dreams! If
your parents are skeptical about it, prove to them how much you
want it.
Did you ever take acting classes or see an acting coach?
Yes I’ve been taking acting classes for a while. Any chance I could
at being involved with local theatre as well as any acting classes my
school offered. At 17 years old I started taking the train into Manhattan and studying with an acting coach.

Damn Yankees.
Any final words?
Live Your Dream Every Day!
Do you get nervous for auditions?
Sometimes, like when I audition for one of my favorite TV shows, I
kind of freak out a little. But I try to regain my composure and not
let it show. Overall I get excited, but stay focused.
Think back to your first audition. What was it like?
My first audition was for a musical, I was nervous
about singing. My voice got shaky, I choked up and
stumbled on the words. But the acting part went well
and I still booked a role.
What is the hardest part about acting?
The hardest part about acting is not letting anything
phase you. There are going to be a lot of non-believers and people who don’t support your dreams. You
can never let them bring you down. You may book a
major role and then a lot of the scenes get deleted or
the movie never hits theaters. So whether it be a big
deal, or a small deal, you can never really let anything
phase you because you never know what’s going to
happen.
On a scale of 1-10, how stressful is this career?
I always say its as stressful or easy as you make it.
Granted acting is one of the hardest dreams to pursue
but if you keep at it, and never give up, I truly believe
good things will come!
Are there any actors/actresses that you look up to?
Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Dey-Lewis, Jamie Foxx,
Jessica Chastain, Julianne Moore, Sally Fields and
Jennifer Lawrence.
What is the best part of being an actor?
You get to watch movies and call it studying. ;)
What is one thing you would like to accomplish this
year?
I would like to book a major role in a Pilot this year!
Have you ever been invited to any special events?
Yes I go to movie premieres pretty often, but haven’t
been to the Oscars yet.
Have you been in any movies?
Yes, I’ve done a lot of independent film work. You can
also watch me in the upcoming movie Blood Ties. I
was featured on New Years Eve, Jumping The Broom,
and Arthur.
Have you been in any commercials?
Yes last year I was Principal in 4 National Commercials.
What is the biggest downfall of becoming an actor?
Its not a stable career. Nothing is promised or guaranteed. But you have to take those risks to make it
