My love for FASHION came when I was a little girl while I intensely examined each page of Vogue. I paid special attention to the variations of Beauty, Style & Art. I knew at that time that I was beautiful, stylish and artistic.
I studied Fine Arts from grade school through high school. I graduated from Booker T. Washington, the highly acclaimed Performing Arts High School where I specialized in Theatre. During high school I performed in local fashion shows throughout Dallas, TX. My mentors at the time were Ester Davis & Deborah Jones of“ Jones 2000 & Beyond”. As the Dallas Arts District started to thrive in 1996, an awesome mural of“ FINE ART” was created on the back side of the Plaza if Americas. I am one of the beautiful images on this enormous piece of art.
I moved to Atlanta GA to attend Clark Atlanta University. While there I worked full time for Nordstrom in the B. P. department. I learned the“ Art” of selling and building lasting relationships. After a short time I excelled and became the“ Denim Striker”, where I was responsible for merchandising the Denim area. My creativity shined because of my“ Passion for Fashion” and my diverse Arts background.
When I returned to Dallas, I learned how to make jewelry. This hobby was a“ Blessing in Disguise” being that I now have an amazing creative outlet. I design and make by hand customized, precious stone jewelry named“ Z by Ze-Enna”. These pieces can be seen in local fashion shows across town and are always for sale. My prices range from low to moderate and are made with unique authentic stones. All pieces are one of a kind, so no two people will ever have the same“ Z” stone.
I couldn’ t survive off of my jewelry profits or modeling gigs, so I worked full time for Belo. I did programming for FOX / MY Network stations in Tucson, AZ & New Orleans, LA. I also was an Inventory / Traffic Specialist at Belo and worked with an ABC affiliate in Kentucky, I learned so much about Media, Broadcast, and Sales. I absolutely loved it. However, since my career is so far from my passion, I pride myself in balancing the“ Fashion-World”( including my jewelry) with my life in Corporate America. After building or changing upcoming program formats for my station or advising the sales teams, I attended model calls / auditions all over Dallas. I worked hard to be in the best fashions shows in town, and was very successful. I“ Ripped the Runway” & I booked shoots with the more sought after Photographers in town. I finally got attention from The Clutts Agency & signed a modeling contract with them. It was a great opportunity until I was offered a position with NBCU in NYC! There I worked in pricing and planning and learned more about Cable. I worked with E!, Style & G4 networks.
Now that I’ m in NY, I plan to break into acting again, since those are my roots. I am determined to get national print ads, TV commercials and film roles sooner than later. But first I must brush up on these here acting skills. Everyday is a school day, so I stay open to learning new things. Finding representation is a major goal for me. I have the talent & work ethic I just need the opportunity!!; o)
I am told all the time that I am down to earth with great personality. I love to help others, and I have a very open mind, and a free spirit. If I had to describe myself in three words they would be EXOTIC, GREAT, & POSITIVE.
