In a world where emerging artists are constantly given advice to stay in their lane and maintain creativity, Tamara has been a granted a permit to serve her soulful melodies to the masses on a platter of music genres. She reigns in the independent music realm as the Pop, R & B, Jazz and Hip- Hop singing sensation that has also been known to spit a few bars, act and model.
Tamara was born in Brooklyn, NY with a beautifully strong voice that could easily pierce a rowdy crowd and calm them to listeners, admirers even. As a youngster, she grew up singing background and harmony on her church choir, but soon took the lead. Before long, she began to take charge of more than the microphone with music collaborations, songwriting for ASCAP and live performances at the Apollo Theatre and Williamsburg music festival. Her strong stage prescense always leaves the crowd in tears because Tamara commands the attention with her raw vocals and enticing melodies. Tamara has even appeared in the Boston Globe, on NBC TV and in numerous blogs, media outlets and publications showing off her irresistible smile, bubbly personality and ultimate love for the camera.
Tamara has been teasing her way to a well-rounded catalogue of music. In January 2012, she released her debut project‘ Sneak Preview’ which included a classic jazz, yet sexy and soulful remake of‘ Fever’ as well as some amazing original material including“ Sue You For Love” and more. Then in Novemeber 2012, Tamara was back with another EP“ Unleashed”. Her sophomore project was at the very least outspoken. She let her lyrics do all the talking, while rapping on dance tracks, singing a capella and then some. It’ s was a no holds barred array of music in several genres all cleverly put together. In December 2012, while there weren’ t many independent artist dabbling in Holiday music, Tamara effortlessly brought an original hip hop track“ Hey Santa” that was a holiday favorite during the Christmas season. She didn’ t stop there. In April 2013, Tamara was back at it again with another round of goodness. Tamara embarked on a socially conscious EP P. ublic S. ervice A. nnouncement. And with a theme song“ Do Your Part”, Tamara has willingly embraced boldness, creativity and comedy in her music singing about issues ranging from sagging pants to murder to overcrowded prisons on some Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop and R & B productions. In addition to the positive messages in the music, Tamara still manages to give more! Proceeds for the first six month after release go to charities that Tamara says are already seeking to help our communities and society as a whole.
Her music influences stem from legends and her songwriting concepts are powerful, comical and sexy; attributes that keep her supporters growing and take first-timers by storm. Tamara writes about love and communication. She says what needs to be said telling more than both sides of the story. She spares no feelings and literally steps on toes as some of the lyrics in her songs suggest that the people involved may get hurt. There’ s something to be said about an artist who can passionately, yet playfully sing about a kitty cat and still manage to connect with music lovers from 8 months to 108 years of age.
