DJ Keyuni
Keyuni Jackson was born in Chicago IL . She lived in a gang infested neighborhood on the Southside of Chicago . Her parents were strict and did everything in their power to keep their children off the streets and involved in gangs and / or criminal activity . Her parents had a great love for music and had a band and a singing group as Keyuni was growing up . In essence , she comes from a family that is musically inclined her parent ’ s musical talents were definitely passed on to Keyuni . Keyuni started by singing in High School and in the Church Choir , throughout her teenage years she would not only perform in talent shows within her high school and church , she would also sing at her family reunions every year . She moved to Richmond Virginia in 1987 , where she began her career working with at-risk youth and from there she became a police officer for the police department working in the juvenile unit while attending college . Keyuni has dual degree ’ s she holds 2 bachelor degrees , Criminal Justice & Psychology , dual Masters degrees , Criminal Justice & Public Administration . She is also due to graduate in November of 2013 with her Doctorate in Public Administration with the specialization of social work . Keyuni decided to open up her own company working with at-risk youth and their families . She felt that the criminal justice system was so busy placing kids in the system ; they were not doing anything as a preventive measure to keep them out of the system .
