semble with a unique sound that stood out in a city saturated with musical talents of all levels and various genres. Patrons who heard the duo would often mistake them for flutes, clarinets, french horns, and strings, only to be surprised to find that the sounds they heard were from two saxophones. The duo’ s favorite compliment is that they are able to embody all the fullness of an orchestra in the sounds of their two instruments. This further validated the group’ s sense of uniqueness of sound, and in turn inspired the group to rehash endeavors of becoming a professional ensemble. The group got its start playing private concerts for some of New York’ s elite aristocracy such as Peggy Davis, who hired the duo to play a birthday party for her husband, Gordon Davis, founding chairman of Jazz At Lincoln Center. Other concerts have featured a variety of performing artists for private parties and club dates, and even a performance at Kittay House, a senior living center in the Bronx. After each performance the reaction of every audience has been the same...“ We didn’ t know saxophones could sound like that!”
