The Del has undergone many changes over the last century. If you look carefully, you can see
them in architecture and design features that span 131 years. Every change reflects world
events or social movements of that time. In these ways The Del, itself, is like a book of history.
It is my privilege to be here at the start of The Del’s next evolution. As you walk around

The future of The Del is exciting, but you
are our first priority. I sincerely ask that you
allow us to make your stay as comfortable
and memorable as possible. We hope you
treasure your stay at The Del of today, and
look forward, as I do, to The Del of the future.
Sincerely,
of travelers with new neighborhoods throughout the resort that appeal to many interests, but
share a singular focus on what has always been the essence of The Del—the relaxed and
effortless feeling of Southern California.
Our plans include 142 new guestrooms and a spectacular new conference center. After Harold Rapoza, Jr.
summer, work will begin to restore The Del’s original front porch, where Jack Lemmon and General Manager
Tony Curtis famously met actress Marilyn Monroe in the 1959 classic movie, Some Like It Hot.
