Behind The Lens PHOTOGRAPHER LEETAL ELMALEH She’s photographed the bustling streets of Tel Aviv, hiked the Amazon capturing the indigenous inhabitants of the rainforest and ridden camels in the Judaean Desert to shoot the sunset over the sand dunes. A global citizen and passionate world traveler, Leetal Elmaleh grew up in Johannesburg and San Diego, had stints in New York and Los Angeles and lived in Israel. “While living abroad I picked up a camera on a quest to share the way I view life through my lens and have yet to set it down.” Currently based in San Diego, she is a preferred photographer of Hotel del Coronado and specializes in wedding, lifestyle and event photography. What inspires you? I believe inspiration lives everywhere: The way light hits a subject, a gorgeous sunset, a piece of art, a song, love and laughter. Nature, people, interactions and relationships inspire me daily. What’s the best thing about shooting at The Del? Describe your style: Capturing the true The Del is iconic.
