Every morning I try making an effort in bringing something creative to my outfit. But when it comes to Indian, sometimes I find myself just putting together a simple kurta and chudiaar before I call it a look. I mean, sure, I can have my days and refuse to get into anything that requires effort, but hey, I want to bag some photographs for the festival.
So lets get down to business.
Diwali is usually associated with traditional, classic pieces of jewellery in terms of gold, kundan and somethings rich.
So perhaps, the first thing you want to do, is raid your closet to find a head chain or a layered jhoomar. IT’S OKAY if you don’t own one specifically. Just take some of your delicate layered necklaces that you bought from Forever 21 and make it sit on your head with a couple of pins. No? Try your luck with the classic maang tika if you want to feel like a princess casually strolling in her garden.
If your style is Indo Western, oxidized jewellery will work the best with you. The older it gets, the more rustic it looks. Make a cheap trip to Colaba Causeway in Mumbai, and pick up some fairly ornamental pieces that you think would match your singlet and pallazos.
