CELEB Q & A that movement. Through my reign, I want to use the power of collaboration to platform female creatives whose work reflects the diversity of our continent.
HOW DID IT FEEL WALKING THE RUNWAY AT AFRICA FASHION INTERNATIONAL( AFI) AS MISS SA?
It was such a surreal experience. The last time I walked the runway was when I was a finalist hoping to become Miss South Africa. During the show, I walked in the manifestation of a dream come true with the incredible sisters I gained throughout the journey. Having been part of AFI’ s NALA Privé Signature Collection launch was such a full-circle moment. My opening look at the Miss South Africa pageant was designed by some of the AFI Fastrack designers, young designers establishing themselves in the fashion industry. To then have my first runway walk post finale be for AFI’ s NALA Privé really felt like an incredible honour and a celebration of a fulfilling journey.
WHAT DID THE THEME‘ THE HARVEST TABLE’ MEAN TO YOU?
I immediately thought of the saying,“ What you plant now, you will harvest later”. For me it meant that the work each of us had respectively put in has been fruitful. Not just for me; I think of the designers who had planned their capsules beautifully, the intention behind Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe steering the ship through unchartered territories, the quiet work of the team that often goes unnoticed … And how this all came together as a celebration and showcase where we were able to reap the harvest of those collective efforts. The Harvest Table was more than fashion, it was about celebrating community and creativity.
NAME A HIDDEN STRENGTH YOU ADMIRE IN YOURSELF.
One of my biggest quiet strengths is my ability to remain curious and adaptable; it has really allowed me to connect with people from all walks of life when we chat. Whether it’ s navigating new territories or preparing for unfamiliar situations, I enjoy a deep dive into unfamiliar topics and using that knowledge meaningfully. Currently, I’ m loving and learning about the fashion industry, from understanding the creative process to how it intersects with identity and culture.
IN 2026, FASHION FOR YOU WILL BE …
A‘ BOLD’ form of storytelling – expressing where I come from, who I am now and the woman I’ m still becoming. IB
