Inside, transformation arrived through careful curation rather than structural upheaval. Wide format wood-grain tiles replaced existing floors, their generous proportions mimicking timber boards while offering practical resilience. Updated lighting fixtures, contemporary switches, and plug sockets quietly advanced the aesthetics. A freestanding cast iron fireplace anchors the living area with French Country authenticity, while plantation shutters control light with
timeless elegance and grace. The kitchen emerged as the home’ s true heart. Here, the wife’ s passion for cooking justified built-in appliances, warming drawers, and a remote-controlled extractor. To add a pop of colour, blue shaker cabinets were added, providing rich colour depth, contrasted beautifully against gold-veined sintered stone countertops.
“ Good design doesn’ t erase history, it illuminates it with contemprary grace and thoughtful curation.”
Sintered stone is known for its durability, heat resistance and longevity. The addition of satin brass knurled handles gently complements the gold within the stone veins without becoming overbearing or old-fashioned, and the choice of illuminated timber display boxes complete the composition where each detail is considered, practical and beautiful.
Maison Lumière is a showcase of architecture in service of making and preserving memories, where French Country warmth meets contemporary sensibility, and where a home gracefully welcomes renewal and a new chapter in its history.
