CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE!

Southdowns College is celebrating the exceptional achievements of the Class of 2025, a group of young people whose results reflect academic excellence, resilience and unwavering commitment.
In a year that demanded focus, adaptability and perseverance, the Southdowns College Class of 2025 rose to the challenge and delivered outcomes that place them among the top-performing cohorts in the country.
Southdowns College achieved a 100 % pass rate, a remarkable accomplishment that speaks to the dedication and consistency of both pupils and staff. Even more impressive is the 96.33 % Bachelor’ s Degree pass rate, opening doors for graduates to pursue further studies at leading tertiary institutions. In addition, the class earned an outstanding 182 distinctions, signalling high academic performance across a broad range of subjects.
Leading these achievements are the top three academic performers, whose results were exceptional.
Aria Sudu, ranked first in the grade, achieved an outstanding average of 90.46 % and earned eight distinctions. Her accomplishments include placement in the IEB Top 1 % for English Home Language( 93 %), as well as Top 5 % nationally in five subjects and a Level 7 in Life Orientation. Her performance reflects excellence both academically and holistically.
In second place, Mukundi Mudzingwa attained an impressive average of 87.85 % with eight distinctions, including distinctions in Further Studies Mathematics and Alpha Mathematics. Mukundi was also recognised in the IEB Top 1 % for Computer Applications Technology( 92 %), highlighting strong analytical ability and technological aptitude.
Langelihle Mkhize, placed third in the grade, achieved an excellent average of 87.69 % with eight IEB distinctions. Her results include distinctions in Further Studies Mathematics( Standard) and Alpha Mathematics, demonstrating a solid mathematical foundation and academic versatility.
Beyond the top three, the depth of achievement across the cohort is equally noteworthy. Bakang Ledwaba achieved seven distinctions and was recognised in the IEB Top 1 % for Life Orientation( 95 %). In addition, five pupils earned six distinctions, while four achieved five distinctions. These results reflect a culture of aspiration and consistent performance shared across the class.
The Class of 2025’ s success is the result of a strong partnership between dedicated teachers, supportive families and motivated pupils, underscoring Southdowns College’ s commitment to developing confident, capable and future-ready graduates.
