Events at the C.C. Mellor Memorial Library (December to March) ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR Join us for CCM’s annual curated fair featuring arts, crafts and gifts made by dozens of local artists. Find the perfect something for your loved ones in our wide selection of pottery, paintings, photographs, fiber art, home goods, jewelry and much more. This year’s fair will be held for ONE DAY ONLY on Saturday, December 8, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the ballroom of the Edgewood Community House. RAFFLE. Take a chance and win something special! Each local artist has donated an item for a raffle benefiting the library. Tickets are $1 for 1, $5 for 7, and $10 for 20, available at the sale or at CCM Edgewood through December 21. Winners will be drawn December 21. PROGRAMS AT CCM FOREST HILLS For Adults CLIMBING YOUR FAMILY TREE: BEGINNING GENEALOGY Wednesday, February 6, at 6:30 p.m. at CCM Forest Hills Marilyn Cocchiola Holt will give an introduction to the process involved in searching for family roots: how to find the who, when, and where of your family! Resources discussed will include census schedules, vital records and courthouse resources, church and cemetery records, military records, and immigration and naturalization. This presentation is part of the CCM Forest Hills Lecture Series, in cooperation with the Western PA Genealogy Association. Free to attend. No registration required. FOREST HILLS WRITERS GROUP First and Third Thursdays beginning in January at 7 p.m. at CCM Forest Hills The Forest Hills Writers Group is forming and will be meeting twice monthly to discuss and encourage work on members’ writing projects. INTERGENERATIONAL CRAFT NIGHT Second Thursdays, 6 p.m. at CCM Forest Hills Craftspeople of all ages are invited to drop by with a favorite hand-work project for crafting and company. Work could include knitting, crochet, or anything else portable that you’d like to bring. Crafting books will be available to learn more. All skill levels are welcome. Make slime, race robots, play games, and more!
