WINS K ' NEX STEM DESIGN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP !! BY CATHIE PEARSON
Congratulations to Zoe Painter , Kallie Kristian , Mia Damico , Isabel Concepcion , and Alicia Matthews for winning the K ' Nex STEM Design Challenge State Championship ! They traveled to Harrisburg on May 19 , 2017 to compete in the championship . They competed against 24 regional winners from across the state . The judges were impressed with their design , teamwork , and creativity . They created S . E . A . ( Saving Endangered Animals ) Voyage which is an environmentally friendly amusement park ride . It is a boat ride that teaches people about endangered ocean animals and how to help them . It features six endangered ocean animals including a swimming dolphin . The ride is powered with wind and solar energy and encourages riders to recycle plastics and make donations to help endangered ocean species . The team proudly represented the Woodland Hills School District and Allegheny County in Harrisburg !! Congratulations on a job well done !
