WINS K ' NEX STEM DESIGN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!! BY CATHIE PEARSON
Congratulations to Zoe Painter, Kallie Kristian, Mia Damico, Isabel Concepcion, and Alicia Matthews for winning the K ' Nex STEM Design Challenge State Championship! They traveled to Harrisburg on May 19, 2017 to compete in the championship. They competed against 24 regional winners from across the state. The judges were impressed with their design, teamwork, and creativity. They created S. E. A.( Saving Endangered Animals) Voyage which is an environmentally friendly amusement park ride. It is a boat ride that teaches people about endangered ocean animals and how to help them. It features six endangered ocean animals including a swimming dolphin. The ride is powered with wind and solar energy and encourages riders to recycle plastics and make donations to help endangered ocean species. The team proudly represented the Woodland Hills School District and Allegheny County in Harrisburg!! Congratulations on a job well done!
