Summer Block Party It’ s party time! Join us at the Westinghouse Lodge from 4 to 7 p. m. on June 9 to celebrate the end of the school year and kick off summer programming. The day is fun and free for the whole family.
Tie-Dye Tuesday Families can sign up in half-hour intervals to tie-dye any 100 % cotton garments that they bring, or tote bags that we supply! We’ ll teach you how to fold and wrap your tie-dye item, dye it and then you get take it home with the instructions on how to wash and take care of it. Sign up for a time slot on June 17 at ccmellorlibrary. org. Rain date will be the following Tuesday, June 24.
Chicken Office Hours Stop by the children’ s room for a small group visit with one of our chicks. We’ ll learn about animal safety and development as we watch our chicks grow. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Join us at 3:30 p. m. July 7-11, 14 & 15 and at 3 p. m. on July 12.

Art Smarts Meet the masters of visual art at your library! Every week we’ ll learn about a new artist, see examples of the person’ s work, and do a project based on the technique used. Draw, paint, cut, and print with us all summer! Every Thursday at 1 p. m. beginning on June 12.
Green Team Join Ms. Jen at CCM Forest Hills every Tuesday at 4 p. m. and explore nature and the environment with summer reading and activities.
Nocturnal Animals Discover the different species that are awake while we are asleep and why they are active at night in this presentation from Allegheny County Park Rangers on July 21 at 6 p. m. in the CCM Edgewood Children’ s Room.
Kids on the Block Puppet Show Meet the Kids on the Block, a group of puppets educating kids about peers with disabilities, different abilities, tolerance, and diversity at 4 p. m. on July 29 in the CCM Edgewood Children’ s Room.

Comic Camp Spend a week designing and writing a short comic strip! Join us July 14- 18 at 2 p. m. in the CCM Edgewood Children’ s Room.

Jurassic Escape Room Join your friends for an after-hours adventure at the library on June 20 to solve clues and break out of the Jurassic Fiction Room. Each team will have 45 minutes to complete the activity and bask in the glory of their success. Register online at ccmellorlibrary. org.
Snackapalooza Showdown Compete to develop the tastiest flavor combinations at the teen snackapalooza showdown at 4:30 p. m. on June 30 in the CCM Edgewood Board Room.

Internet Basics Internet Basics is geared toward people who already have a basic knowledge and understanding of how to use a computer and want to gain more expertise on using internet browsers, navigating websites, and protecting their privacy online.
