The Woodland Hills Foundation is pleased to announce that our 2020 Scholarship Applications are now open. Mini Grants are modest cash awards that help educators make a positive difference in the learning experiences of their students through innovative teaching ideas. Teachers across all schools in the district are invited to apply by filling out an application which details their idea, the population served and the potential impact of the program. The focus of the Mini-Grants is to encourage innovative teaching ideas. Board members and other volunteers collect and review applications and select those ideas which they feel will have the greatest impact. Grants are awarded based on the quality of the idea outlined in the application and the potential impact of the project on the learning of students and the community as a whole. The Foundation also considers the degree to which the project is self- sustainable after the first year of funding. All Mini-Grants are funded through dollars raised through the work of the Foundation. Since 2002, 201 Mini-Grants have been awarded, totaling over $118,000. The Woodland Hills Foundation is proud to announce our 2019 Mini- Grant Winners: T hanks to a generous donation from Patti Fedishen Zollner, we now have a total of seven scholarships available. The 2020 Patti Fedishen Zollner Scholarship Fund is open to all seniors who will graduate from Woodland Hills High School and the award must be used for tuition or books for continuing his/her education at a community college, trade or technical school, or a two year or four year college.
