Make It Wednesday Wednesdays 3:30 to 6 p. m. Get your Maker mind ready as we explore and create together.
Mad Science Thursday Thursdays 3:30 to 6 p. m. Get ready to get messy, goopy and silly. We will mix and match and watch what happens next.
Home for Your Heart with Ms. Betty Rice Tuesdays and Wednesdays 4 to 6 p. m. A mentoring experience for elementary grade and teen girls. Join Ms. Betty twice a week to work on homework, check in and build each other up!
Young Adult Autonomous Art Zone( YAAAZ) Neighborhood Print Shop Wednesdays 3:30 to 6 p. m. Ages 13 to 20 Come create and communicate! YAAAZ is facilitated by teens for teens. Come be in your creativity with other like-minded teens. Learn how to print your own posters, t-shirts, album covers and more. Or just hang out to draw, imagine or design!
ADULT PROGRAMS
Design Time Neighborhood Print Shop Tuesdays 6 to 8 p. m. Bring your imagination, your ideas and your projects! This workshop teaches you the computer skills to get your design ideas out of your brain and ready for print. Adobe and open-source design programs are taught. First-come, first-served. Bring a thumb drive or recordable CD if possible.
Zumba Every Tuesday 6:30 to 7:30 p. m.
Interested in a fun and upbeat workout? Come and try Zumba, a dance and aerobic workout that incorporates the choreography of hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo with body toning and sculpting exercises. Suggested donation $ 5
Yoga Every Thursday 5 to 6 p. m. This class is open to all skill levels and will both relax and strengthen the body. Please bring a mat if you own one( a few are available for those who do not). Chair adaptation available for those who need it. Suggested donation $ 5
Learning Spanish Together Every First and Third Wednesday 5 to 7 p. m. Join Art Lending Facilitator Jonathon Reyes in learning Spanish together! There is no better way to learn than by learning as a community. All Spanish speaking levels welcome.
JOB CORPS Every Third Friday 11 a. m. At Pittsburgh Job Corps, students receive the skills needed to succeed in today’ s workforce— at no cost to them or their families! If you are looking for a better quality of life and are willing to dedicate yourself to a life-changing program, Pittsburgh Job Corps is the place for you! Join us for Job Corps every 3rd Friday to learn more and to apply for enrollment! Get a head start by bringing any or all of the following: SS Card, State ID, Birth Certificate, Immunization Records, Medical Card.
Fathers Involved Now Every Third Friday 11 a. m. to 1 p. m. A group by Dads and for Dads! Calling all Dads! Join us in building a support network and resource distribution system for fathers!
Fiber Arts Exploration Every Tuesday 5:30 to 7 p. m. Are you an experienced knitter? Ever wanted to learn to crochet? All skill levels and ages welcome to talk patterns or just get started. Books, yarn, hooks and needles will be available, but feel free to bring your own materials or projects.
Neighborhood Print Shop Saturdays 9:30 a. m. to 3:30 p. m. Do you have a family reunion coming up and want to print t-shirts, or a wedding and want to make low cost, original invitations? No experience necessary. Reservations required: print @ braddockcarnegielibrary. org. Free studio use for 15104 residents + cost of materials. $ 5 for out-of-neighborhood visitors + cost of materials.
Bathhouse Ceramics Studio Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30 to 9:30 p. m. Open studio is ideal for those who want to work independently while learning how to work and create with clay. Utilize all the resources of the studio to learn to produce ceramic items ranging from cups to sculptures. All skill levels welcome. Free studio use for 15104 residents + material cost or $ 10 / visit, $ 50 / eight visits.
March 25 from 3 to 6 p. m.
We invite you to participate in our annual and extremely delicious chili cook-off to support the dynamic learning opportunities at the Braddock Carnegie Library. Sign up to compete as a chili cooker or just come and eat! All participants receive a handmade bowl from our Bathhouse Ceramic Studio.
