Social Work Intern at the Library
Anne , our social work intern , is available two days a week to offer support to anyone who needs assistance or has a lifeor work-related question . Ask Anne about mental health resources , job applications / resumes , housing resources , food security and more !
Music Under the Tree Summer Concert Series
Join us for our final Music Under the Tree summer performances on October 1 ! Concert starts at 2:30 p . m .:
Teresa Hawthorne ( Jazz , Soul ) is an accomplished singer and entertainer who has served as an opening act for many notable musical groups , including The Whispers , Midnight Star and the Delfonics .
Sunburst Music School ( Teenage Band ) is a group of young musicians from Sunburst Music School who will showcase their skill and talent . The school helps young musicians take their experience to the next level through collaboration and on-stage experience .
A big thanks to all of this summer ’ s wonderful performers , and also to our music team , Sue Pearlstein and Eric Slagle , for creating and managing Music Under the Tree .
Programs for All Ages
Wizard Card Tournament Based on your cards , guess how well you ’ ll do against your opponents and win points if you ’ re right . There will be snacks , prizes , lots of laughter and fun ! Friday evenings from September 10 through November 19 . For ages 10 and up .
Jigsaw Puzzle Exchange !
Visit the library lobby to take a puzzle or to donate a puzzle , no need to return them .
Robotics Swissvale Library ’ s FIRST LEGO League challenges kids ( grades 5th through 8th ) to think like scientists and engineers . We meet on Saturday mornings . For the fall session , teams are building , testing , and programming an autonomous robot using LEGO ® MINDSTORMS ® technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game . Call the library to sign up . There is also a spring session !
Grab & Go Kits New kits every month ! Pick up in the library lobby . School-age kids get a science experiment or STEAM activity . Pre-readers get a concept kit with an early learning or an early literacy activity .
Baby and Toddler Storytime – Tuesdays , 11 a . m .

Minecraft Mondays – Mondays , 5 to 6 p . m ., VIRTUAL
