CLOVERLEAF FOOD PANTRY CELEBRATES 40 YEARS !
The Cloverleaf Area Ecumenical Assistance Program serves West Mifflin , Pleasant Hills , Baldwin and South Park . It operates out of The Triumph of the Holy Cross Pleasant Hills Parish , with many individuals , churches and synagogues participating . Cloverleaf was formed after the mass exodus of the steel industry in the 1980s , which left many in the Mon Valley with an uncertain future .
The pantry distributes food every two weeks throughout the year , providing more than 120,000 lbs . of food annually , which includes canned goods , baked goods , fresh produce , fish , meat , milk and eggs . It also distributes diapers and pet food for families on a regular basis .
The organization is staffed by a very dedicated group of volunteers who give unselfishly of their time , amounting to 5,000 volunteer hours yearly .
Cloverleaf welcomes food donations , volunteers and financial assistance from the local community , which will allow this wonderful organization to continue its important work in the community .

Firefighters serve our community with fire prevention education and by responding to emergencies , taking more than 500 calls per year ! Though the fire stations are staffed entirely by volunteers , a great deal of training is required to become a firefighter . BOOTS & BOWS !
West Mifflin Borough is holding its Father / Daughter Dance on April 20 from noon to 3 p . m ., or 5 to 8 p . m . This will be an afternoon ( or evening ) of fun , providing a shared memory of a special experience for fathers and daughters . Participants can be anyone who is a father figure , and daughters should be ages 3-10 .
Lunch or dinner will be served ( depending on the time selected ), plus there will be entertainment and , of course , lots of dancing ! The event will be held at the Westwood Golf Course , and the cost is $ 70 per pair ($ 25 for each additional child ). Tickets are limited to four , and must be purchased in person at the borough office , 8 a . m . to 4 p . m . Monday through Friday ( cash or check only ).
