The West Jefferson Hills School District proudly honored Veterans Day with a series of events celebrating the service and sacrifice of local heroes. Students, staff, and community members came together for breakfasts, speeches, and musical performances dedicated to those who have served.
A total of 160 veterans were welcomed at breakfasts hosted by Thomas Jefferson High School and Pleasant Hills Middle School, where students had the opportunity to engage with them, listen to their stories, and express heartfelt gratitude. 5th Grade Leaders Shine for a Cause:
Supporting St. Clair Hospital
The 5th Grade Leadership Team at Jefferson Hills Intermediate School, led by Ms. Angela Bell, proudly organized a fundraiser to support St. Clair Hospital. Students sold a variety of pink items including bandanas, sunglasses, stress balls, and bracelets all generously provided by St. Clair Hospital. Thanks to the enthusiasm and hard work of the leadership team, along with the support of the school community, the students raised an impressive $ 2,155 to donate back to the hospital for breast cancer research. This effort not only promoted community spirit but also supported an important cause. Great job JHIS!

about growing up in military families, offering meaningful perspectives on both the challenges and pride that accompany military life.
U. S. Marine Corps veteran Michael Cranmer delivered an inspiring keynote address at Thomas Jefferson High School, encouraging students to make thoughtful decisions and uphold integrity. At Pleasant Hills Middle School, The Honorable Judge Michael Thatcher led the Veterans Roll Call, followed by a keynote speech from Mr. Michael Medved. Students had the opportunity to engage with attending veterans through a Q & A session, and the ceremony concluded with a group
picture in the Pleasant Hills Middle School gymnasium.
