The classic movie “Christmas Vacation” (PG-13) sees the
Griswold family’s plans for a big family Christmas predictably
turn into a big disaster. In “Elf on the Shelf,” Spike the Elf has
to make sure his kid stays on the “Nice” list, get his letter to the
North Pole on time and make it back to Santa’s workshop before
midnight on Christmas Eve.
