WHAT’S NEWS IN WEST JEFFERSON HILLS Winter Animals with the Allegheny County Park Rangers, Dec. 16, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. You might wear a big fluffy coat or sit by a fire to keep warm, but how do animals survive the winter? Join the Allegheny County Park Rangers to find out! We’ll learn how local wildlife adapts to our cold winter climate, whether it’s by moving away, sleeping through it, or toughing it out. JEFFERSON HILLS THIRD GRADER DONATES TOYS TO CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL OF PITTSBURGH Yoga with Tammy Z, Dec. 18, 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Vanessa Warden, a third grader at Jefferson Hills Elementary School, used her ninth birthday as a way to do something good for others. In lieu of gifts, she asked her friends to purchase toys for the Child Life Department of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She delivered the collection of toys to the hospital on Oct. 14. All programs take place at the library at 302 Old Clairton Road, 15236, unless stated otherwise. Special HOLIDAY HOURS Pleasant Hills Library will CLOSE at 5 p.m., on Dec 23, 2019. The library will remain closed Tuesday through Thursday, Dec. 24-26, 2019. February 10, 2020, Kelly Stebler a practitioner of Reiki will explain and demonstrate the benefits of Reiki for our physical, mental and emotional health. March is our annual covered dish dinner.
