Waste Management New Recycling Regulations
for the Borough of Jefferson Hills
Beginning in January, Waste Management will begin providing
the solid waste and recycling services to the Borough. New
regulations will be in effect at that time, with the company
no longer accepting recyclables at the curb containing heavy
contamination.
In addition, Waste Management will no longer accept
recyclables in any type of plastic bags. Materials must be placed
loose in your recycling bin. Plastic retail bags should be taken
to your local retailer to recycle. Only recycle plastic bottles, jars
and jugs labeled as #1 PET or #2 HDPE plastic in your curbside
recycling bin. If it is not a bottle, jar or jug it must go in the trash.
Glass will no longer be accepted for recycling.
