Garbage & Bulk Item Placement Residents are reminded that garbage, recycling containers, and bulk items may not be placed at the curb until the afternoon or evening prior to scheduled collection.
Per Borough Code § 308-22, refuse may only be placed curbside beginning at 12:00 p. m. on the day preceding collection and containers must be removed after pickup in accordance with the ordinance.
Proper placement helps maintain neighborhood appearance and prevents litter and debris from entering roadways and storm drains.
“ Flushable” Wipes Are Not Flushable Residents are strongly reminded that so-called“ flushable wipes” should not be be disposed of in the sanitary sewer system.
Although marketed as flushable, these products do not properly biodegrade and are a major cause of sewer blockages, backups, pump failures, and costly maintenance issues. Please dispose of wipes in the trash rather than flushing them.
Sanitary Sewer Inspections Prior to Property Sales If you are planning to sell your property, a sanitary sewer inspection is required prior to the transfer of ownership.
To help avoid delays during closing, the Borough strongly recommends scheduling the inspection before listing the property for sale. Early inspections allow sufficient time to address any issues that may be identified during the process.

Contractor Materials & Roadway Obstructions Residents and contractors are reminded that
Borough streets are not storage areas. Trailers, dumpsters, mulch, dirt, stone, construction materials, and similar items may not be stored within the roadway or public right-of-way. These materials create traffic hazards, drainage issues, and can damage
Borough infrastructure.
Please ensure all contractor materials are kept on private property and not within the traveled roadway.
Tree & Shrub Maintenance
Property owners are reminded to properly maintain trees, shrubs, and landscaping adjacent to streets and sidewalks.
Vegetation must be trimmed so that it does not obstruct roadways, sidewalks, traffic signs, or sight distances for motorists and pedestrians. Maintaining clear visibility is essential for public safety.
Residents should ensure a minimum clearance height is maintained over sidewalks and roadways in accordance with Borough regulations.
