Fishing for Fun
The 22nd annual Fish for Fun Day , originally slated for Saturday , April 13th , had to be rescheduled due to flooding . However , on its new date of Sunday , April 21st , the event unfolded with great success . Despite the delay , eager participants gathered along Peters Creek from morning until early afternoon .
Attendees enjoyed a day of angling in addition to refreshments and snacks provided by the Jefferson Hills Recreation Board . Adding to the excitement , prizes were awarded for the most impressive catches , with the day ' s biggest fish measuring 19 and 3 / 8 inches .
Thank you to the Jefferson Hills First Responders , Public Works Department , and Council members for generously volunteering their time to support the Recreation Board for this event . Beyond the mere act of fishing , Fish for Fun Day highlights the spirit of family bonding and appreciation for the great outdoors . Thank you to all who attended !
Yard Waste Dropoff Days
The Borough of Jefferson Hills Public Works Department will have a drop-off dumpster located in their back parking lot for residents ’ yard waste on June 8 , July 13 , August 10 , and September 14 . This initiative aims to streamline the disposal process and promote environmental responsibility within our community .
Residents are welcome to bring their yard waste in any container of their choice . However , containers cannot be deposited into the dumpster . Accepted yard waste items include grass clippings , leaves , weeds , hedge cuttings , as well as limbs and branches .
