8th Grade Dinner Dance
The annual 8th grade dinner dance looked a little different than years past but was still a fantastic event . The dance was held at Pleasant Hills Middle School and the night started with a red carpet entrance into the beautiful outdoor venue of tents with a true Thomas Jefferson feel of black and gold decorations . This was the first school social event the students have had since the pandemic started in March 2020 . There were about 150 students dressed for this formal event to culminate and celebrate their final year of middle school . They ate some delicious food and enjoyed the sundae bar for dessert . The photobooth was a big hit as well considering the kids lined up to take countless pictures with their friends . While masks were being worn and students were practicing COVID safety protocols , they didn ’ t let that impact their night . They danced the night away and even had a special speech from their class president , Gavin Hart , who provided inspiring and encouraging words of overcoming the adversity this past year had brought to everyone . His classmates cheered and the students continued their evening of fun and festivities . It was a difficult year with many restrictions , but fortunately for the Class of 2025 , this was one tradition that they were all able to celebrate and will hopefully remember for years to come !
