ach school year, staff and
students work on a school-wide
enrichment unit. This year,
the focus was the American
Civil War and Gettysburg. Teachers in all
content areas planned and implemented
lessons based on the central theme. Our
goal was for students to learn important
life lessons from that time and how we
can still learn from them today. As a
culminating activity, students traveled
to Gettysburg, PA to witness first hand
the scene of one of the greatest battles
in American history. Students learned
about all three days of the battle visiting
the renovated Gettysburg Military
Museum, the PA Soldiers Monument,
Little Round Top, and the High Water
Mark sites to name a few. Thanks to all of
our staff who helped plan the trips and
to our students and parents who helped
raise funds for the three grade-level trips.
