ANIME CLUB: Thursday, July 20, at 2 p.m.
New time for summer! Do you enjoy anime
and manga? Come talk with fellow fans, watch
some anime, try some Japanese snacks and
learn about new and interesting titles. For

BUG HUNT AND HIKE AT PLEASANT
HILLS ARBORETUM: July 22 at 10 a.m.
(Rain date: Aug. 5 at 10 a.m.) Join Chad
Gore, local entomologist, at the arboretum
to learn about bugs in our area. We’ll search
for specific bugs while enjoying a nature hike.
This family program will take place at the
Pleasant Hills Arboretum, 181 West Bruceton

Families, celebrate National Ice Cream Day at
the library by making your very own batch of

TOWN HALL SOUTH
ANNOUNCES 2017-18
SPEAKER SERIES
Town Hall South is a philanthropic
organization dedicated to bringing nationally
and internationally acclaimed lecturers to the
South Hills.
Founded in 1969 as an outreach program
of Westminster Presbyterian Church in
Upper St. Clair, Town Hall South continues to
function as a self-sustaining entity under the
gracious auspices of the church.
Annually, a portion of proceeds is
awarded as grants to a wide variety of local
organizations in the surrounding community.

HARMONY SINGERS
LAUNCH NEW SEASON
The Harmony Singers of Pittsburgh, a
South Hills choral group, will launch its
2017-2018 season on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at
7 p.m., with an open house and ice cream
social for returning and prospective members.
The event will take place at the Brightwood
Christian Church Social Hall, 5044 West
Library Road, Bethel Park. Weekly rehearsals
are held at the church during the concert year.
The Harmony Singers have been
entertaining for more than 50 years. They
perform a wide variety of music—Broadway,
rock ‘n’ roll, patriotic and pop tunes. The
group is available to perform for civic, social,
church or business organizations.
New members are welcome to join the
Harmony Singers. All voices are needed.
Performance experience and the ability to
read music are preferred but not required. For

ALLEGHENY COUNTY

HOURS FOR MARRIAGE
LICENSES AND PASSPORTS

The county’s
marriage license
and passport office
is offering Saturday
hours over the
summer to accommodate requests
for more convenience. Begun in
April and running through October,
the office will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on
Saturdays. These hours are in addition to the
office’s regular hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,
Monday through Friday.
Marriage license services are available to
residents of any county who are intending to
marry in Pennsylvania. The marriage license
process includes completing an application
and appearing at the marriage license office.
No appointment is necessary. For additional
information and to start the marriage license
process, go to alleghenycounty.us/marriage.
Applications will not be processed after 4 p.m.
on weekdays or after 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
Passport services are available to all U.S.
citizens, regardless of county or state of
residence. First-time applicants for a passport
book or passport card must complete and
submit an application in person, along with
proof of U.S. citizenship, proof of identity
and two photographs. Children’s applications
have additional requirements. Unlike other
passport locations, no appointment is
necessary at the Allegheny County passport
