West Jefferson Hills School District launches InfoSnap for online student registration and back-to-school data collection

West Jefferson Hills has launched InfoSnap, an online data collection system, to replace the stack of forms parents are inundated with at the beginning of each school year. InfoSnap is integrated with PowerSchool, our student information system, so when the time comes, most of the blanks will already be filled in for parents, and the majority of their work will consist of reviewing information and updating out-dated information.
The school district will be contacting parents in early August with information on accessing InfoSnap, and the district plans to open computer labs for families with limited internet access. Parents are strongly encouraged to update contact information in PowerSchool so the district has current email addresses for communication purposes( https:// powerschool. wjhsd. net / admin). If parents don’ t have a PowerSchool account, they can get information for setting up a PowerSchool account and update contact information by contacting the office at their child’ s school.

Superintendent Search Updates

Due to the retirement of Superintendent Dr. Michael Panza, the School Board of Directors hired Mr. Tom Templeton of Templeton Advantage to assist the District on searching for a replacement. The goal is to have a superintendent on board by the start of the 2016-17 school year. To ensure community involvement, focus groups were held to gather feedback from all stakeholders to explore the strengths and concerns of the school district, discuss key issues, and determine the critical skills needed in the next superintendent. The focus groups were open to the public, and approximately twenty community members attended to share their thoughts and ideas for the future. To keep the community informed of this process, a section of the website has been dedicated to provide updates at: http:// www. wjhsd. net / SuperintendentSearchUpdates. aspx.
