Mayor Jan Cmar Presents George Washington’s Portrait to Borough A famous portrait of George Washington hangs in Borough Council Chambers after presentation to the Borough by Mayor Jan Cmar at a recent Council meeting. Mayor Cmar obtained the portrait from the Mt. Vernon Ladies Association, the group that has owned and operated George Washington’s Mt. Vernon in Mt. Vernon, VA for the past 150 years. The Association is dedicated to the preservation of the home of the first president and educating the people of the world about his life and legacy. Although it was a cold and rainy day, a determined group of young fishermen and their families enjoyed the fishing, prizes, and lunch.
