KAREN BUCY
Focus: I am focused on maintaining a safe, well-maintained community while responsibly managing borough resources and improving the quality of life for all Jefferson Hills residents.
Priority for this Term: One priority I am most focused on is managing the budget to ensure that there will be no tax increase for JH residents. I believe our borough can provide quality services and improve our parks through cost effective planning. Gill Hall Park, Beedle Park, Tepe, Andrew Reilly Park, and Lobbs contain facilities and acreage that can be renovated to meet the recreational needs of all JH residents.
Challenge I am Eager to Take On: One challenge I want to take on is streamlining the demolition process of abandoned blighted properties. Blighted properties attract crime and are a public safety hazard. They also are an eyesore for fellow neighbors who work hard to keep their property well maintained. Property values decrease when blighted properties continue to not be rectified in the community.
What I Appreciate About Our Community / Most Rewarding: Jefferson Hills is a community that helps their neighbors. Whether assisting others when sick, with daily life’ s responsibilities, or volunteering one’ s time in coaching sports or church activities, JH residents step up to challenges. During previous snowstorms, neighbors helped neighbors shovel out driveways and sidewalks and buried cars. Wellness checks on neighbors, friends, and family demonstrated the caring characteristics of our JH borough. Jefferson Hills is a great place to live.
JOSEPH LYNCH
Focus: My personal connection to Jefferson Hills drives my focus on protecting the borough’ s close-knit character while planning responsibly for the future and preserving what makes Jefferson Hills feel like home.
Priority for this Term: I am focused on expanding parks and recreation through park upgrades, trail connectivity with the upcoming Montour Trail / Peters Creek / Route 51 Project, and new amenities such as the dek hockey rink at Andrew Reilly Park.
Challenge I’ m Eager to Take On: I am committed to ensuring public services evolve alongside Jefferson Hills’ continued growth through data-driven planning and responsible infrastructure investment.
What I Appreciate About Our Community / Most Rewarding: I value the opportunity to support local military veterans by strengthening partnerships between municipal government, veteran organizations, and our community.
NICOLE RUSCITTO
Focus: I am committed to bringing a new standard of openness and inclusion to Jefferson Hills. My priority is to move beyond the status quo by implementing transparent communication practices and creating meaningful opportunities for all residents to be heard before decisions are made.
Priority for this Term: My priority is to protect our green spaces. I plan to work with every member of council in a productive way to ensure every resident will treasure the beauty of borough that we live in.
Challenge I’ m Eager to Take On: A challenge will be to hold developers accountable. Everyone deserves a home to call their own, with the assurance that the borough will help keep the area safe for years to come.
What I Appreciate About Our Community / Most Rewarding: One thing that is most appreciated and rewarding is being chosen by the residents to serve them as a voice on council. I have always felt that public service is an honor. I plan to keep that as a mission moving forward for the next 4 years.
CARRIE MCCAFFREY
Focus: As Mayor of the Borough of Jefferson Hills, I am committed to serving our community with a strong focus on safety, growth, and meaningful community engagement.
Priority for this Term: One of my main priorities has been continuing to work closely with our police department to ensure they have the resources and support needed to operate efficiently and effectively for our residents.
Challenge I’ m Eager to Take On: Help to bring new businesses into the borough while working collaboratively with council to thoughtfully manage our defined resources. Together, we continue to explore opportunities to expand recreation and community amenities that encourage residents to connect and take pride in our borough.
What I Appreciate About Our Community / Most Rewarding: I am proud to have helped launch Holiday in the Hills, an event that has grown over the past three years into a cherished community tradition. I am also honored to have helped bring back our Memorial Day service in partnership with our fire department, recognizing those who served while bringing the community together.
