ROUND HILL PARK EVENTS FOR SPRING !
Spring is the perfect time to enjoy outdoor activities since the temperature is usually not too cold and not too hot . Here are some events planned for spring and early summer at Round Hill Park .
Guided Hike : Hit the Trail with the Park Rangers !
Join the park rangers on an exploration of the scenic hiking trails of Round Hill . The hike is for all ages , and is approximately two miles with moderate elevation changes . It will be held April 28 , so be sure to register .
Park After Dark : Fascinating Fireflies !
As the sky becomes dark , the fireflies come out , making sparks in the night . This unique event is for all ages . You can learn about the official state insect of Pennsylvania and the fascinating lives fireflies lead . Flashlights will be provided , but spots are limited . Be sure to register early for this event , which takes place June 21 .
You can also tour the park ’ s working farm , which is a free tour and takes about one hour . There are horses , cows , goats and many other animals to see . Smaller groups and families are free to tour the park without a guide . For reservations call 412.384.4701 , Monday through Friday , from 8 a . m . to 4 p . m .

ETHNIC HERITAGE COOKIE CRAWL
Enjoy the ethnic heritage of Western PA through cookies on Saturday , March 23 , from noon to 3 p . m . This event will be at the Jefferson Hills Borough Building in the Community Rooms , and promises to be delicious ! Junior Ranger : Explore the Beaver Habitat with Park Rangers
Explore the life of beavers , while enjoying a short walk to search for evidence of beavers . Participants will get a chance to mimic the engineering skills of beavers with a hands-on activity for the whole family . This event will be April 27 , and is intended for children 5 – 12 years old , but everyone is welcome . ( Children must be accompanied by an adult .) Be sure to register !
CLOVERLEAF FOOD PANTRY CELEBRATES 40 YEARS !
The Cloverleaf Area Ecumenical Assistance Program ( CAEAP ) serves West Mifflin , Pleasant Hills , Baldwin and South Park . It operates out of the Triumph of the Holy Cross Pleasant Hills Parish , with many individuals , churches and synagogues participating . The pantry distributes food every two weeks throughout the year , providing more than 120,000 lbs . of food annually .
