PHMS Students and Staff focus on CPR Certification

Thanks to the efforts of Baldwin EMS, CPR trainings were provided to all Pleasant Hills Middle School students and staff who made it a priority to have the life-saving certification. Over 160 middle school students stayed after school to complete the CPR course. Eight members of the Baldwin EMS led by Chief Todd Plunkett worked with students on the basics of CPR and using an AED apparatus. Staff members of PHMS completed the CPR training during an in-service day on February 10. The staff also completed a training provided by UPMC personnel entitled,“ Stop the Bleed.” " Stop the Bleed " is a nationwide campaign to empower individuals to act quickly and save lives. The program is supported by the Department of Homeland Security. The goal is to train bystanders to take simple steps to help keep the injured alive during emergency situations. We also would like to thank School Resource Officer, Ron Porupsky, for initiating these life-saving trainings for our staff and students.
