harles Bennett is the new Borough of
Jefferson Hills Finance Officer and Treasurer.
In addition, at the February meeting, Council
appointed Mr. Bennett to serve as Interim
Borough Manager. He joins the Borough after
serving as Business Manager at a local public
school district for 36 years. A resident of
Jefferson Hills for 28 years, Mr. Bennett and his
wife Doreen are the parents of a son, Andrew
and daughter, Deanna.

Three Council Incumbents Sworn in at January Council Meeting

istrict Judge Ron Arnoni administered the oath of office to
re-elected Council members Mary K. Reynolds, Tracey P. Khalil
and James A Weber at the January meeting. All three began their
third terms in office and have served our community since 2008.
Francis Sockman Named to Council in February
B
orough Council welcomed Francis L Sockman as its newest
member at the February meeting. Sworn in by Mayor Jan
Cmar, Mr. Sockman was appointed to fill the unexpired term of
Melissa Barclay who resigned from Council earlier this year.
Mr. Sockman, who retired from the Woodand Hills School
District after over 36 years in education, served area schools
as teacher, school principal, assistant superintendent and
athletic director. With a teaching background in Industrial
Technology he is knowledgeable about safety issues, and
served as a Safety Supervisor on the Mon-Fayette Expressway.
Mr. Sockman and his wife Joyce have resided in Jefferson Hills
for over 50 years.
