I n an effort to remain on target with current education trends and instruction, we spend time every year focusing on a few disciplines for curricular rewrites and updates. During the past two years that I have been with the district, we have revised and rewritten the English Language Arts and mathematics core curricula from kindergarten to twelfth grade. In addition, we also rewrote the high school science core curriculum. This year, the curriculum teams will be working on the entire core social studies curriculum as well as finishing the elementary and secondary science core curriculum. A core curricula is defined as general and honors -level courses, not including all electives. The Advanced Placement, or AP courses, are rewritten and submitted to the College Board- the governing body of the AP tests- as required.
