Marathon Partners
With Community
Each year, Marathon Petroleum Company in Jefferson Hills invites local
firefighters and emergency rescue personnel to visit its facility as part of
the company’s Good Neighbor program. The purpose of the program is to
familiarize emergency responders with its 55-acre asphalt storage facility
and perform mock drills. Last fall, more than 20 fire and rescue participants
practiced confined space entry and rescue procedures from inside an empty
storage tank. These drills provide valuable hands-on training that prepares
responders for real life situations. To support the Floreffe Volunteer Fire
Company, Marathon recently presented them with a check for $1,000 to aid
in the purchase of new fire hose.

Marathon also partners with the community by volunteering at the Olivet
Presbyterian Church Food Bank in neighboring West Elizabeth. The Food
Bank serves more than 60 local families each month. Marathon employees
work with other volunteers to unload delivery trucks and stock the shelves.

of the Borough’s engineering work in-house as possible to increase
cost efficiency.

the City of Annapolis for five years. A
