GHES & MCES Welcome Back to School

As the 2022-23 school year kicks off , Gill Hall Elementary and McClellan Elementary Schools are looking forward to starting the school year with many new faces . We ’ re excited to welcome a new class of kindergarten students into our buildings and all the new families who ’ ve moved into the district .
During the summer , we held a 1st through 5th grade Summer Program , a two-week KinderCamp and our Kindergarten Orientation . Our PTAs also hosted Back to School get-togethers , so all our families had the chance to meet before the year got started . Mark your calendars for the first PTA meetings of the year - McClellan on Monday , Sept . 12 and Gill Hall on Thursday , Sept . 15 .
In addition to the students , we will also be welcoming some new faculty members to our buildings as well and look forward to having a full-time school counselor at each of our buildings this year . Hopefully you ’ ll get a chance to come out and meet all the new staff at our Open House on Thursday , Sept . 8 .
After numerous changes to the schedule last year , we have finally settled in on one that allows us to focus on one of our Core Values : “ We believe that the future of education will be characterized by a customized and highly personalized system where the instructional methodologies are optimized for the needs of each learner .” We ’ ve developed a more structured WIN ( What I Need ) time everyday , where every student will get small group instruction in reading and math based on their individual needs , thus maximizing opportunities for students to grow to their full potential .
Each year brings new challenges and changes , but one thing will always stay constant : We will always be here to provide the best education for your child , focusing on growing the “ whole child ,” while fostering a love for learning .
