Eagle Scout Project
Benefits PHMS
Outdoor Classroom
PHMS’s Outdoor Classroom benefitted
from an Eagle Scout Project lead by TJ
High School student Andy Atkinson and
Troop 1843. The Outdoor Classroom was
established in 2006 in honor of middle
school teacher Robert Brown. Mr. Brown
passed away in 2005. Staff and students
developed the classroom to remember
Bob and his love for the outdoors. Andy
Atkinson saw the classroom was in need
of some improvements and requested to
complete the project for his Eagle Scout
Badge. The project included making a
gravel pathway, mulching areas around
the classroom, power washing the
seating areas and memorial plaques, and
setting up two planting beds. Thanks to
Andy’s leadership, the classroom is ready
for our students and the new school year.
We also want to recognize and thank
Mark Generalovich, Thomas Russo, Russel
Pancoast, and Joe Carrol for their work on
the Robert Brown Outdoor Classroom in
previous years.
