Our Mission: The West Jefferson Hills Chamber of Commerce promotes local business development and community collaboration and endorses expanding local business in West Elizabeth, Jefferson Hills, and Pleasant Hills. Recent Events NETWORKING-PIZZA ON THE PATIO On Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Primanti Brothers in Pleasant Hills members met for a networking opportunity. Members were able to enjoy salad and pizza while meeting with others to network. The weather was wonderful for an outside event which was held on Primanti’s outside patio. NETWORKING-POOL PARTY On Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the South Hills Country Club members again met to network. It was a beautiful summer day for an outside event that overlooks the pool. Members enjoyed some delicious hors d’oeuvres and cool drinks as well as each other’s company. UPCOMING EVENTS • Picnic on the Porch-Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 5:30 • Fall Roundtable-Steel Center-October 11, 2018 at 8:00 • Veterans’ Day-TBA • Christmas Party-December 4, 2018 Scholarships GARRETT PITTMAN Steel Center Recipient Garrett graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School this past spring in the Class of 2018. He was enrolled in the HVAC, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, at Steel Center. Some of Garrett’s accomplishments are scoring advanced on the NOCYI Exam, earning an EPA Universal Certification, was a two time winner of Top of the Shop, and was a two time winner of the Extra Effort Award. He is employed as an HVAC Technician with the Toby Karg in Robinson Township which began immediately after graduation. CAITLIN MOYER-DINARDO Business Recipient Caitlin is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School Class of 2018. While at Thomas Jefferson, she excelled in the business program over the past four years. As a member of FBLA, Future Business Leaders of America, she placed third in the region last year in the Business Communications event which earned her the privilege of representing our region at the State Leadership Conference in Hershey. Caitlin was also involved in running the Jaguar Den. She was often the first person to “step up” when extra things needed to be done around the store. Caitlin plans to pursue a business degree at the University of Tennessee. The monies for the scholarship are generously donated by Eastman Chemical in Jefferson Hills. Congratulations to both Garrett and Caitlin. The West Jefferson Hills Chamber wishes the best for you in the future as well and please keep us informed as your career’s progress. Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies On June 14, 2018 AAA held a ribbon cutting ceremony because of the new addition made to the existing building. The building is arranged with specific areas for the services provided. The actual space has doubled and hopefully will be very customer friendly. On June 25, 2018 a plaque was presented to the newly built Texas Roadhouse in Southland Shopping Center. The manger, Joe Stump, along with William Trimbath, Pleasant Hills Mayor and Louise Biddle, West Elizabeth Council, represented the West Jefferson Hills Chamber.
