A letter from our new Borough Manager, Tricia Levander est Jefferson Hills BOROUGH OF JEFFERSON HILLS NEWS

Dear Residents:
Since 2013, the Borough of Jefferson Hills has been recognized by two personal finance and consumer survey websites as a“ Best Place to Live in PA.” As the new Borough Manager, it is no surprise to me that the Borough has received these honors, as there are so many reasons to be proud of this beautiful community! I became Borough Manager of the Borough of Jefferson Hills in July, and after just a few months of working with Borough Council, Mayor Cmar, Borough department heads, our community partners and our volunteers, it is obvious that the Borough of Jefferson Hills richly deserves the designation of a great place to live, work and raise our families.
I grew up in Rostraver Township; a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and have served in local government for the last six years. Through my years of service, I have become proficient in municipal budgeting, zoning and planning, permitting, public works, grant writing and community development. I am a manager who will be proactive at cutting costs, and will dedicate my time to improving processes for residents through new technology and effective, interactive collaboration among our departments and employees.
One of the ways that we are improving communication with our residents is through our new Borough website www. jeffersonhillsboro. org that we launched in May to give our residents the most up-to-date news and information on a number of topics: Council and committee meeting dates and minutes, Borough ordinances, special events,
54 West Jefferson Hills parks and recreation; forms and permits, and answers to all of the questions you may have about living in the Borough. We encourage everyone to visit the website and signup on the HOME page to receive an occasional e-newsletter.
We are currently working on several projects that will give a facelift to our Borough parks. Just to name a few, we received a grant through the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for park renovations based on our Comprehensive Recreation, Park & Open Space Plan to replace the fencing and bleachers at Beedle Park; and we are applying for a Community Development Block Grant to replace all of the doors at the Gill Hall Park community center.
Also, we will continue to maintain our Borough infrastructure through our 3-step comprehensive approach of paving, tar and chipping and rejuvenation. In addition, we are actively overseeing all of the phases of construction for the new Thomas Jefferson High School where our kids with learn, grow and achieve their greatest dreams.
I will continue to seek opportunities to improve our parks, infrastructure and the overall livability of our community. Please visit me anytime or call our offices if I can help you in any way. I look forward to meeting you!
Sincerely,
Tricia Levander
