Wildflower Walk
Presque Isle State Park is teaming up with
experts from the Botanical Society of Western
Pennsylvania for a 3-hour outdoor wildflower
identification walk. Skilled enthusiasts and
novices alike are invited to enjoy the botanical
treasures of early spring on this 2-mile walk.
Be prepared for a slow-paced, botany-detailed
trek along sandy trails and beach area.
Personal water bottles, snacks, and packed
lunches are encouraged. Meet at the B-Trail
trailhead, which is located between Beach 9
and Beach 10. There is no fee or registration
required. May 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lagoon by Pontoon
The lagoon at Presque Isle is full of natural
surprises such as sun-basking turtles, wading
great blue herons, beavers slapping their
tails on the water, and many other natural
wonders. Join the park staff and volunteers on
a one-hour interpretive pontoon boat ride to
discover the natural history and beauty of the
interior. Sign-up begins at 10 a.m. in person
at the pontoon station and is on a first-come,
first-served basis. This is a free program. Daily,
starting May 26, at 11 a.m., 1 and 2 p.m. Go to
