The primary purpose of the weekend is to bring awareness to the diverse natural ecosystems throughout the park and the numerous recreational opportunities it offers, and to educate visitors on the importance of preserving our natural environment. The celebration occupies key points throughout the 3,200-acre peninsula such as Waterworks, where one will encounter the Arts & Craft Show, take part in family-friendly nature awareness activities, experience live music on the beach and a sand sculpture competition, and enjoy a giant bonfire. Visitors can tour the Presque Isle Lighthouse, take a free boat tour of the lagoons, and learn about the plants, animals and fish that inhabit the park.
