Bird watchers of all ages are invited to the TREC anytime
between 9 a.m., and noon to contribute to real-time science
research by helping count the birds visiting our feeders. No

Arctic Animals, 11 a.m. - noon. It’s cold
outside! How do arctic animals deal with the
frigid weather? Craft a polar bear out of recycled paper.
Busy Beaver, 1- 2 p.m. The North American Beaver is active
all year. Discover adaptations that help them thrive in winter.
Dynamic Ducks: 2 - 3 p.m. If it looks like a duck and quacks
like a duck, it might be a duck. Find out what makes a duck a
duck with fun hands on activities.

student art competition, “A
Day at The Beach” Presque Isle.
Open to all students from first
grade through college currently
enrolled in a public, private,
or home school. Categories
include 8 x 10 photography,
mixed media, oil/acrylic/
pastel, pencil/pen, watercolor,
and sculpture. Register by

registration form will be
given upon receipt of e-mail. Artwork will be judged and award
winners will be called for an award presentation on April 24,
from 6 to 8 p.m., at the TREC. Each category will have a 1st,
2nd, and 3rd place winner and a best in show will receive the
Chairman’s Award, sponsored by the Presque Isle Advisory
board. All artwork entered will be displayed on the second floor
of the TREC from April 25 to May 31. n
