DAZZLING DISPLAY
“ Dazzling Nights” at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden will run until Jan. 3. If you haven’ t had a chance to see it, this display is an amazing wonderland of lights— and best of all, it’ s close to home!
This year’ s display features a 50-foot Christmas tree, a“ tunnel” of beautiful illuminated stars, 30-foot walls of light, and a neon-lit forest. Pittsburgh rarely has a white Christmas, but you can enjoy a nightly snowfall with“ Snow and Glow.” All ages will enjoy the“ Disco Snowman Escape Maze.”
Be sure to visit the Garden of Reflection, adorned with beautiful stained glass windows and hundreds of candles! There will be plenty of warm beverages and treats available as well.

IMPERIAL VFD BINGO! Bingo nights are a great way to visit with your friends and neighbors for a fun evening while supporting the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department.
All proceeds go to support these brave men and women in their work to answer the call to care, especially on winter’ s cold, dark nights.

The next opportunity to play bingo will be Monday, Jan. 26, at the Activity Center, Upper Level at 310 Main Street in Imperial. Doors open at 6 p. m. and bingo starts at 7 p. m.
Admission is limited to those 18 years of age and older. The cost is $ 10 per packet, which includes three cards for each regular game; one triple card for each special game. Additional cards can be purchased.
WESTERN ALLEGHENY COMMUNITY LIBRARY HOLIDAY HOURS
The library will be closed Dec. 24 and 25, reopening at 9 a. m. on Dec. 26.
It will close early on Dec. 31, at 2 p. m., and will remain closed through Jan. 1. Normal hours will resume on Friday, Jan. 2, with a 9 a. m. opening.

SETTLERS CABIN PARK IN WINTER
It’ s a little cold, but if you brave Settlers Cabin in the winter snow, you’ ll be rewarded with a beautiful sight!
The 1,610-acre park is regarded as one of the most rugged in Allegheny County, with several scenic trails and a hidden waterfall.

Did you know that when Imperial was founded in 1879, it was originally called“ Montour City,” after the nearby Montour Railroad? It was renamed Imperial for the Imperial Coal Company, and that was fully adopted when the local U. S. Post Office opened in 1880.
