“ Every setting takes tremendous attention to detail. It takes a lot of work to make sure that the experience is storybook-elegant for each visitor. But I love what I do! It’ s truly a passion.”
The tea room is a wonderland of exquisite pieces that were carefully curated for several years to reflect the European roots of the tea tradition.
Chanel, an area resident who is the creator of this enchanted little corner of the world, has a natural talent for interior design. And her father was a chef in New York who often cooked for the famous Rat Pack of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr. among others.
Chanel learned how to make wonderful main dishes along with delicious pastries from her father. As a result, her tea room menu features unique flavors based on a seasonal menu.
The setting combined with a delectable menu create an exceptional experience in the gracious living of another era.
“ I’ ve actually had older ladies cry; they were so moved by the experience of being here,” says Chanel. The calm and elegant atmosphere likely reminds them of an experience in their past when such places were more common.
Uniquely Yours frequently has four generations of a family who come together for tea. Those of all ages find the visit entertaining and perhaps a bit of a reset from our modern age, which seems to be dominated by electronic screen devices.
Gentlemen also feel at ease when coming for tea with their spouses. The menu appeals to both men and women, and no one will leave hungry.
Though some people enjoy dressing up in period attire and picture hats, many are casually dressed— and settings can be provided for as few as two guests. Sundays are reserved for special events, with parties of 25 to 50 people.
“ Every setting takes tremendous attention to detail,” explains Chanel.“ It takes a lot of work to make sure that the experience is storybook-elegant for each visitor. But I love what I do! It’ s truly a passion.”
Although it’ s recommended to make reservations two weeks in advance, you can sometimes benefit from a lastminute reschedule to snag a spot.
