WEST A 7TH GRADE BOYS WIN STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!
The West Allegheny Boys Basketball team won the 2025 PA Middle School Basketball Championship in March at Penn State!
The PIAA does not sponsor a tournament for middle school, so Coach Aaron Thomas entered the boys travel team in this special league tournament for his 7th graders, after capping off a regular season of 18-1. The team had qualified for the previous two years of the tournament and narrowly missed last year, finishing behind the winning team by a slim margin of only one point! This year’ s tournament hosted over 300 teams competing for the championship.
Coach Thomas says,“ The boys worked extremely hard this year and we’ ve always had very supportive parents.”
Congratulations for an outstanding win!
